Cake Pops with Chocolate Sprinkles Recipe

Cake pops are a fun and easy dessert that is suitable for any occasion. These decadent cake pops are coated in delicious chocolate and sprinkled with chocolate sprinkles.

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 30 minutes
  • Total Time: 50 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions, using the oil and eggs.
  • 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely before crumbling it into a large mixing bowl.
  • Mix in the frosting until the cake and frosting are thoroughly combined.
  • Roll the mixture into 1 inch diameter balls.
  • Insert a lollipop stick into each ball and place them in the freezer for 1 hour.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and shortening in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.
  • Dip each cake pop in the melted chocolate, turning to completely coat it.
  • Chocolate sprinkles should be sprinkled over the chocolate-coated cake pop.
  • To set the chocolate, place the cake pop upright in a piece of styrofoam.
  • Repeat with the remaining cake pops, then serve.
