Dessert Chocolate and Vanilla Cake Pops Recipe
These delectable cake pops are ideal for parties and other special occasions. They are sure to please everyone's taste buds with a combination of chocolate and vanilla flavors.
Ingredients
- 24 lollipop sticks
- 1/2 cup chocolate frosting
- sprinkles are used to decorate
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp vegetable shortening
- 1 box vanilla cake mix
- 1/2 cup vanilla frosting
Time Needed
- Prep Time: 45 minutes
- Cook Time: 30 minutes
- Total Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes
Instructions
- Follow the package directions for baking the vanilla cake mix.
- Combine the vanilla and chocolate frostings in a mixing bowl.
- In a large mixing bowl, crumble the cooled cake.
- Mix the crumbled cake with the frosting mixture until well combined.
- Place the mixture on a baking sheet and roll it into 24 balls.
- Fill each ball with a lollipop stick.
- Chill the cake balls for 30 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate chips and vegetable shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring after each interval, until smooth.
- Tap off any excess chocolate before dipping each cake pop.
- Sprinkle sprinkles on top of the cake pops and place them on wax paper to set.
- Before serving, place the cake pops in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
