Instructions

  • Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions and set it aside to cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and softened butter.
  • Crumble the cooled cake into the peanut butter mixture and combine thoroughly.
  • Make 24 small balls out of the mixture and insert a lollipop stick into each one.
  • Freeze the cake pops for 15 minutes on a baking sheet.
  • Melt the chocolate chips and vegetable shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.
  • Dip each cake pop in the melted chocolate and top with chopped peanuts.
  • Place the cake pops on wax paper and set aside to cool until the chocolate hardens.
